What's for Dinner, Wed., March 18, 2026

Asian Slaw--Crunchy Oriental Cabbage Salad with Asian Dressing. I started this yesterday but was too tired to finish it. It's a RecipeTins invention. I just love this woman. She has a great dog, who she brings into her cooking ventures. If you go to the blog, you'll see him. A cutie, for sure.

She says chicken will go well with this salad, but I'm using baby shrimp.

Now is the time to buy cabbage! It's a healthy option for greens and because of St. Paddy's Day, it's on sale at many grocery stores. I bought this huge cabbage for only $1.54 but I had to use a digital coupon. Of course, I also still had to get red cabbage for this recipe.

Kombucha: cherry-ginger

Dessert: Earl Grey and almond biscotti. Slices of CaraCara.

~ Rana’s spinach and ricotta ravioli. Once the ravioli are cooked I’ll toss them in a saute pan until they get a little brown, then add some roasted cherry tomatoes and browned sage leaves.

~ Chopped salad: iceberg lettuce, carrots, dried cranberries, black olives with a homemade maple-balsamic dressing

~Tomato juice with lemon and pepper

~No dessert….sad but true.

Tonight's planned meal is childhood Lent nostalgia, a piece of oven baked fish with breading, mac & cheese with a lettuce tomato cuke salad, decafe tea instead of milk in 2026.

After this feast the option of popcorn, especially if all of us kids were "good children" was there for the Friday night creature features. The giant spider ones freaked me the hell out then & still do today.
Memories sit at kitchen tables.

Steam-fried in sesame oil and veggie broth: chopped onion, red bell pepper, sliced carrots, cut broccoli, sliced mushrooms and minced garlic and ginger. Then I added my own garlic sauce and stirred in brown rice. The dish is topped with chopped Beyond Chicken tenders and scallions. Cheers!🥂
