mopinko and NYC_SKP were here today for breakfast (mo stopped at a local restaurant and got carryout) and I am still full. Later, I'll heat a Trader Joe's chicken pot pie.

I usually eat light in the AM. Chug down a protein drink to start the day ('Muscle Milk', it's got 20g of protein and the chocolate one is really good). Some toast, etc. But sometimes a full breakfast fits the bill, especially with friends.

I'd met mopinko before, but never NYC_SKP. Usually, I have cereal or an English muffin during the week and a bigger breakfast on the weekend.

We talked about doing it again the next time NYC_SKP comes to Chicago. Have a great night!

Had no mayo, so I melted a little bit of canola oil butter w/ the curry powder to top the broccoli.

Used too much dill on the shark (something I often do with dill and Chinese five spice). Nice crusty broil, but with the curried broccoli it was a bit much. Whoa. Needed something sweet somewhere, somehow.

So I dolloped a glob of apricot yogurt with some honey on the plate for a dip. Sliced cucumber for some green.

Homerun!

I haven't figured out what I'm doing with it yet. A spinach salad to go with it.

I love fall. It's comfort food time.

Green salad with shredded scallions and green pepper. Homemade French dressing.

Pasta fagioli.

Meatloaf with tomato sauce.

Cabernet sauvignon.

Rice pudding.

With mashed potatoes on the side. it will probably taste better tomorrow after the flavors meld but we enjoyed it for supper. The daughter sometimes has a problem swallowing chicken since her gastric bypass but she said the chicken was tender and it worked. There's plenty for leftovers, too.
