(60,010 posts)Perfect for those cold nights when a fast meal is wanted.
I can cream of chicken soup (Campbells)
Tonight I used the can that says "35% more!" cause it is bigger than the new cans they have shrunk down.
3 cups milk, ( I use 2% organic) blended together in mixer.
Then added to big skillet ( I use the wok) of green pepper, flavorful ham and onion chunks sauteed in butter.
Simmer till heated thru, while the homemade ( or Grands) biscuits are baking.
Break biscuits into chunks in a bowl, spoon the ham and etc soup over.
The cream of chicken soup has a flavor that goes perfectly with this mixture.
Blows my "natural foods" diet all to hell, but we eat it so rarely.
Nummmmmmmm.

(Aside: He's 96, BTW. He hasn't practiced in over 30 yrs, but my 68 yr old mom won't let him retire. She sees him once a week because she "don't trust these new kids today" .
That recipe sounds yummy!
really use 3 cups of milk to one can
of soup! That seems like a lot. Just asking
because it sounds good and am going
to try it.

(60,010 posts)I had a LOT of ham cubes and peppers and onions as the base, cuse I wanted left overs.
The Cream of Chicken soup nowdays is really really thick , much thicker than when I started using this recipe years ago.
And it was the BIG can.
Not the Industrial big size you find next to the gallon jars of pickles, but the "35% MORE" big,
as opposed to the now smaller cans of Campbell's.
Just blend milk in until you get a gravy like thickness, it can vary without losing flavor, so start small and see what you need.
You'll know.
You want it a teeny bit on the thin side so the biscuits soak up the sauce.
Any left over thickens in the fridge, by the way, but heat it up first before adding more milk.
For one person, I would do a cup each of ham, diced onions and peppers.
1 small can soup and 2 cups of milk.
1 pckg Grand Biscuits contain 8, btw.
This recipe is very forgiving, you can play it by ear with the soup sauce.
that makes sense to me. Think I missed
where you said the 35% more in the can. lol
I'm going to the grocery store in a bit
so I'll make sure I get enough of everything then!
