My mom is 100% Italian. If she caught me at Olive Garden, she'd send the mob over to wack me.
I've eaten there twice, and the way I sum it up is "Olive Garden is what Italian food is for clueless old white folks".
Bif, just smile and say "thanks" to your dad. The very fact you posted this says you get it, he doesn't.

If your dad makes fried chicken, do you tell him it's as good as KFC? Or if he makes hamburgers, they are as good as McDonalds/Burger King/Wendy's/whatever?
