What's for Dinner, Sat., Sept. 27, 2014

The RG is coming back from LA, so we're having dinner at our favorite Portuguese restaurant tonight. We are being joined by our lawyer friend. I'll have been teaching all afternoon, so it will be a nice thing to do after work.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have my usual: Chicken Francaise with shrimp. I look forward to the huge salad with balsamic, plus lots of tomato and artichokes.

I am taking an overnight Amtrak tonight, so I am most likely going to hit the closest Popeye's and take some chicken on the train. I don't have a sleeping car but am hoping for two seat that I can curl up in.

Should be fun.

Actually…. I tasted this new recipe last night right after watching Maher. I couldn't wait to sample it. A very good, low calorie version of what to do with green tomatoes. Probably will have it with some side salad or broccoli and a beer!

I will paint all day, after gardening this morning, as the renovation in our home (including kitchen) is finished, but for painting certain rooms.

I will have to share photos of a new kitchen, which is best seen "before and after", taking a modest space and making it work for my cooking needs… that is, if I have any motivation left!

I'll have to get the kitchen pix to photo bucket later (probably after that beer) but…. Here's the recipe, courtesy of WonkyWonderful…

(by the way, I didn't put any sauce on over the pie)

I make something similar with beefsteak tomatoes, parmesan cheese and basil. This looks equally delicious, with or without the sauce.

Love before and afters. I should do some for my kitchen, too, but the butler's pantry still needs to be finished.

I came home to feed kitties; now it's off to the airport and then the restaurant.

My team isn't playing this weekend, and I am out of sorts over that. Guess I will rearrange the furniture. Ha!

Hope you feel better soon.

with french fries, corn-on-the-cob and cole slaw.

I've been a good boy re: fried foods, so I'm giving myself a treat. Oddly enough, the fries will be baked.

It's cooling off and I love to make soups and stews in the colder weather.
