Suggestions, please.

I'm having a little party (6 of us) Saturday for friends who haven't yet met my 2 month old grandson. I've decided to serve Mimosas, and bought Prosecco this morning. Don't have a juicer, so will buy OJ at grocery store.

What's the best brand???

Thanks

Not able to squeeze it myself, and no fresh squeezers in the neighborhood, so wondered whether y'all can recommend 'good' store brands.

But I've found that most of the national brand stuff that says it's not made from concentrate (i.e. "fresh squeezed" in the factory!) has a very good flavor, so long as it's not close to the sell-by date!

On PBS last Saturday. Fresh squeezed is quite cost prohibitive and labor intensive.

And I can't remember if it was Minutemaid or the other national brand that came out on top? If you want definitive evidence research that episode. It has the proof.

Best of luck with your celebration.

I do like the show, but missed it last weekend!

EDIT: JUST found Good Housekeeping's test. Their #1 not a national brand, but their #2 Florida's Natural is, so that might be it.

If Dad were here, it would HAVE to be home squeezed; would borrow his juicer (and labor labor labor!) but he's not with us, so I may have my answer!

'never frozen', and 'not from concentrate', 100% pure juice.

Probably still pasteurized, of course.

One of our local stores does offer fresh squeezed under the store name, though, so on the rare occasions we want OJ, we usually get that.

One reason I don't drink juice often. The other being that my preferred orange is the blood orange, and it's next to impossible to find that already in juice form. Or even at all, most of the year.

hand juicer thingies where you cut the fruit in half and squish it on the device to get the juice out. One has served me well for years and, lets face it, fresh squeezed OJ can't be replicated by store bought anything.

If you don,t know the device of which I speak, let me know and I'll post a picture. For a small group, this will work just fine.
