Imagine getting snowed in for three days like Buffalo.

I had a nice back and forth in LBN about snowed in stories. Last bad one was about three years ago, first night was pure steakhouse, prime ny strips, sav blanc, baked potato and a salad to make us feel better.

Then 24 hr bread before bed.

Etc, etc.

So if you are in for 3 days, and have a day or two to plan, what do you make?

Back then, though, we were confined to home for days.

I was snowed in for nearly two weeks because I have a little car with little tires and there was no way to get out of the driveway and down the street until the garbage trucks had been through a few times.

I thought that crap would never melt.

ETA: I was on the upper Cape for the 78 blizzard. Streets were more or less plowed, dug the car out of nearly three feet of the stuff and drove to work. Found out about the travel ban from work. It was bizarre, we had bright sun and no wind but could see a wall of black clouds all around us. The eye of that stinker got over us and sat, which is why it was so much worse in Boston and areas to the southeast.

One plus to being trapped in a snow storm rather than a major earthquake, is that I'd be able to use my gas range and heat without worrying that i'm going to blow the place up.

If I knew ahead of time that I'd have to hunker down for a few days for the 2 of us?

I'd have on hand 3 live crabs. Boil the crabs and eat 1 and half of them between the two of us with melted butter, lemon and Old Bay on the side. And a side of garlic noodles. And a butter lettuce, pear, pomegranate, shaved pecorino salad with an orange vinaigrette.

Second dinner would be using one more crab (leaving 1/2 in reserve) for crab and asparagus risotto. With a side of bitter greens and toasted nuts with a garlic mustard vinaigrette.

Third dinner would be sweet corn with the last half of crab soup and vegetable frittata.
