Mom didn't have to cook.
Grilled chicken quarters
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans
Salad
Steak with shitaake mushrooms.
Tossed salad with greens from my garden. I might put beets, feta cheese, and walnuts in it.
Asparagus, also from garden. Going to roast with sesame oil and put toasted sesame seeds over.
Dessert: pears and cheese.

(39,961 posts)and sesame oil and seeds sounds DELICIOUS.
Not a fan of beets, but feta and walnuts are luscious on salads.
Steak - well, I like mine with the breath knocked out of it. If it tries to get away from the plate it is on, that's what I have a knife and fork for!

(14,733 posts)I picked up something for the housemate, but I'd been thoughtless and petty earlier in the day, so didn't feel I'd had the sort of day where I'd 'earned' someone else making my dinner. And the spaghetti squash IS getting long in the tooth and needs used up.

roasted homegrown asparagus, tomato salad. Sour cream pound cake with local strawberries with whipped cream. The moms were happy, the guests were happy, the cooks were happy and I had the best nap today~~~
It sounds like you had a great Mother's Day!!

(9,808 posts)one day when I don't worry about any dietary restrictions. You can believe I heaped on the whipped cream & strawberries.

I don't need whipped cream, just scoot the bowl over to me LOL!
