Like everyone else, I could use more calcium and protein, not to mention things that aren't upsetting to the stomach.
My weird but loved snack is - Cottage Cheese (preferably Large Curd) mixed with Soy Sauce. It has Umami, protein and a yummy texture.
What's yours?

(39,961 posts)But I must say, that I do like cottage cheese - but I am particular - I like Large Curd. Large Curd doesn't come in low fat versions, only 4% and up, but since I need the calories, and they are good fats, I don't worry about it.
I use Kikkoman that I have added garlic cloves to as the soy element.

(50,130 posts)My favorite way to eat it is with dill weed and triscuits, along with a glass of V-8. Delicious snack.

(2,016 posts)Yeah, I love cottage cheese and triscuits - (I actually had to look at the box to spell it - you are correct.)
I always add green onions to the cottage cheese. It's a "thing". And yeah, a virgin bloody mary works too.

(50,130 posts)I used to make a little treat with cottage cheese and chopped vegetables. Radishes, parsley, celery, carrots and my beloved dill weed. Green onions sounds good. Nice lunch.
Did you get off the mountain?

(2,016 posts)The fog didn't break until the 4500 ft level. So, it was either 10 mph and straining to see 10 feet in front of the car, or stay the night.
I chose the former, because there was beer in the fridge at home with my name on it.

Green Onions would make a nice addition with the sprinkle of soy sauce!

(39,961 posts)Dill weed would definitely be a nice addition and I LOVE Low Sodium V-8. You can just feel the vitamins flowing into you

(35,422 posts)Since I quit wheat, I cut up big bell peppers, red, green, and yellow, into "chips" and serve them with dip, like French onion dip.
Like so many situations since dropping wheat, I find this superior to what I used before. With this kind of chip. I there is so much moisture in the pepper "chip," and it provides a bright, crisp taste experience.

(39,961 posts)but out of all of the vegetables in the world, and I absolutely adore most of them, I despise to the BONE bell peppers. I love hot peppers of all kinds, but something about bell peppers absolutely disgusts me. Even the smell of them is like something rotten, like carrion.
I don't know why, but I have always detested them.
But do enjoy if you like them. I'm sure they are good for people that don't want to hurl when they smell fresh ones.
