Storing kimchi

Anyone have suggestions for storing kimchi in a way that doesn't stink up the refrigerator? I get a really lovely but stinky kimchi from a local Korean restaurant, but unfortunately, I can smell it in the fridge even when it's sealed in a mason jar. Love it in my scrambled eggs, but hate it in my fridge.

I know a lot of people who have separate fridges for the kimchi. Yes, it does tend to penetrate everything else in the fridge.

The smell goes right through plastic. I swear it even goes through glass and I'm not willing to buy it its own refrigerator.

yard! Does the mason jar have a canning jar lid with a seal? If not, you might buy a box of those and use it in addition to a regular screw-on lid. I made some pickled radishes last spring and they were really rank. I used a jar lid with a seal and then screwed on a plastic jar lid. It kept the odor of fermented radish from escaping into the refrigerator.
