I'm going to finish up my orange chicken that I didn't get done last night.
For dessert, more of this delicious melon (cantalope, honeydew).
If I can pick up some chia or flax seeds, I'm going to experiment with putting them into the above.

(2,016 posts)I didn't just want celery and blue cheese dressing to go with... so I made a blue cheese slaw, with both green and red cabbage, carrot and green onion. I used "Bob's Blue Cheese dressing" as the dressing, and added crumbled blue cheese (because there is never enough blue cheese in anyone's blue cheese dressing!)
Did I mention Blue cheese?

(35,675 posts)Makes this look like a gourmand's dream:
Tater tot casserole. No, seriously. Last month I hosted a function in a small town in the midwest, and when they gave me the menu of what entrees I could choose, one of the items was "tater tot casserole." I had a hard time controlling my amusement.
I was afraid to ask any questions about it, because I was pretty sure I was going to hear the phrase, "can of mushroom soup" and "ground beef."

(1,451 posts)Cooking for kids is not real elegant. I have "sloppy tots" on the menu for this summer. Yes...Sloppy Joe sauce topped with tots and cheese then baked. Sigh... Any question why I enjoy this group so much

(35,675 posts)Maybe the same reason I like "average" classes, as opposed to honors classes.
Friggin' honors students make me work. I'm getting too old for that.

p.s. I used to love honors classes, but now that I'm getting older, I'm kinda' liking not having to be on top of it all the time.

(175,742 posts)Green beans. Raspberry cake for dessert. This is a Duncan Hines white cake mix to which I added a small packet of raspberry jello and mashed fresh berries. No frosting to save a bit on calories. It's very good.
