Those are the kinds of words I use to describe what kind of cravings I have. If you can identify with any of those kinds of words, it's a clue to what you are dying to put in your mouth! Good luck. How about a margarita with lots of lime?

otherwise, I'll overeat a bunch of other stuff trying to get rid of it and it never works that way. Being sated or even overstuffed never kills the craving.

The worst has been a fried chicken craving, had that one for about 5 years until Tyson came out with wheat free breaded chicken strips. It's more better living through chemistry than I ordinarily like, but it's putting that craving to rest, at last.

This brings up a childhood memory...

Me: "Ma, I'm hungry."

Ma: "Have some fruit."

Me: "But I don't want fruit..."

Ma: "Well, then you're not hungry!"

That's my go-to when I'm peckish. Especially cherries. Expensive, though.
Something sweet and tart? Try a chilled mango. That's some good stuff, right there.

like a family meal sort of thing...

like my Grrandmother used to do, but every time I think of the meals she made, it is always something so heavy, like sour beef and dumplings, and that is NOT what I am craving.

I thought it was jambalaya, but I made a big ole satisfying mess of it, everyone loved it. Plenty of leftovers, but somehow it did not scratch the itch.
