Making ice cream with dry ice (Original Post)

Dry ice works on the same principle, but is less dangerous to work with and more readily available. I don't make ice cream very often, but I think I'll try this the next time I do.

It's sort of a rite of passage for young astronomers. "Slave! Make me ice cream!" said the professor...
I didn't mind, it was fun. But I realize LN2 is not accessable to all. We always have 100's liters on hand to cool the cameras. May as well use some in the kitchen, eh?

My boss was a little twitchy about the cost, but it was even more impressive than LN2...I overestimated how much I'd need and stalled the mixer, instant rock-hard block of the creamiest, smoothest ice cream I've ever had
