Tonight we're having a dinner meeting of all the people in our program where I work. Tonight's the first night of the summer session, and we work through the first or second week of August. This is at the university where I usually teach (not the college where I spoke at the Board last night).
The food is pretty good at this university cafeteria, but what I'm really looking forward is meeting my group of students for the summer!
On edit: we had chicken francaise. There was a vegetable medley of cauliflower, broccoli, and yellow squash. Rice. Also clam strips. Any soft drink you'd want, or tea. For dessert, chocolate ice cream.
The cafeteria service was definitely operating on opening night standards. The food was good, but there were a few glitches. The best part was seeing all my colleagues.

(29,503 posts)use some on a low-carb platform ... maybe with some soba noodles? Anyone try that?

(35,619 posts)I used them a lot when I was more focused on my no-grain diet, but I've loosened up the standards. I need to get back to it, and soba noodles will be part of it.
Are they as good as regular pasta noodles? No, I don't think so, but I've found I can get used to about anything.
When I first found them, I was just thrilled that I didn't have to say goodbye to noodles forever.
