What's for Dinner, Mon., July 4, 2016

I made an old favorite today: turkey-cherry salad with toasted almonds on top. I serve it on a wrap with chopped lettuce. The turkey is from a rotisserie roast I bought at the store. In addition to the dried cherries, I also put in raisins.

So, it will be a nice, easy meal this evening. Dessert is a piece of Toblerone chocolate pie.

Now, to scout out some more fireworks!

Grilled corn on the cob, too. Classic spud salad and Caesar salad. Strawberries for dessert.

ps: I got shanghai'd into doing the grilling yesterday at the shin-dig. The BBQ bacon-wrapped shrimp came out better than I hoped. (I haven't cooked on charcoal in decades, but it got applauses.) I didn't mind being drafted, because they kept really good wine flowing my way.

for my husband's birthday feast. I made a nice chimichurri to go with it, and found this while googling what to do with the extra sauce:

We also had potato salad and fresh broccoli, and hope soon to have a little room for key lime pie for dessert.

Salad, and flatbread. Yum.

I was going to grill but all day cleaning out the garage wore me out. Now i'm enjoying an ice cold martini.
