What's for Dinner, Fri., Feb. 24, 2017

Pizza. This one I am basing on a popular pie at California Pizza, but I'm afraid to tell anything about it because I might get too much flack from pizza purists. So I'll let it go at that.

The fennel slaw I made last night was fantastic! It was so good I'm making it again tonight.

LEEK. Tastes pretty good.

Do you have a recipe for fennel slaw? I saw a fennel bulb at grocery store, which doesn't happen often.

Beef cacoila, that is. Portuguese braised beef, shredded and served on a roll. With seasoned fries, and (probably) a green salad. I think I still have some of my sister's hot pepper relish she made last year. If I do, I'll slather the roll with it.

The hard part of slow cooking is the wait ... meanwhile, the whole house smells divine!

ps: for some reason, DU is not letting me use the cedilla (broken "c&quot . Whatta pain...

Costa Rican green bean hash. Lotta veggies, little meat. It's taking awhile for everything to get tender, though. Served with rice and cabbage salad - just oil & vinegar, salt & pepper.

In other words, a normal meal. I might even toss in a dinner roll with butter.
