(15,805 posts)I love the stuff, but it's hard to find it fresh around here. Most people don't know what it is or what to do with it, and it's confusing as its usually in with the kale and greens. Once, I was grabbing up all the rhubarb on the shelf (it was only a few pounds) and a woman asked what it was and looked incredulous when I listed off cobbler and pie. Makes my mouth water just thinking about a tangy, sweet bite of rhubarb pie.

(2,674 posts)Years ago , when we lived in Alaska, rhubarb was commonly grown in gardens. My neighbor gave me some and I made a pie and my family gave that a thumbs down. Then I found a recipe in a cookbook that called for it to be baked and topped with marshmallows on top. Kids loved this one.
I have never seen fresh Rhubarb in Texas.
