'The modern salad can be a tiny, pristine head of lettuce with a drizzle of olive oil or a huge bowl packing a days worth of vegetables, dairy and grain. All can be quick, irresistible and easy, but thats not to say salads dont require any effort. Well look at three types green, single-subject and big before walking you through dressing, tossing and topping your salad. With a little planning, the salad bowl can be the brightest spot of your meal.'>>>

(130,895 posts)Your salad sounds great. How 'nice' to have beefsteaks! I did have a boiled egg in my salad/dinner tonight, cucumbers, baby beets, peas, green and yellow beans, celery, sweet red pepper, balsamic dressing.

finely diced sweet onion
diced red bell pepper
shredded carrots, the more the better
diced roma tomato, the whole tomato
crumbled blue cheese
Caesar style croutons

Served in a huge bowl with iced water to drink. Now THAT'S a salad!
I have this for dinner several times a week. The produce section at my local HEB grocery store keeps me well supplied with these delectables!
