(3,276 posts)of Betty MacDonald's writing, so we had a hard-back copy of "The Egg and I" and I read it several times when I was a kid. The book is still on my shelf, but it's been a good many years since I last read it.
Not about food but an even more interesting book was "The Plague and I", about her time in a tuberculosis sanitarium. You wouldn't think so from the subject matter, but a very funny book.

the book but did not like it as well as the
