Related: About this forumDid I read something from this group about the high price of cinnamon?????
If I did..almost sure I did, now that I think about it....I am ordering again from this bulk spice company, cinnamon powder
is about 6.00 a pound, which lasted me over a year last order, I use a lot of it.
and cinnamon sticks, in various lengths, are 7.20 a pound.
I bought a lot of species and herbs in pound sizes, they seem to do well in the freezer ( the manual defrost one).
Good money saver, even with their 20.00 shipping/handling fee.

(102,360 posts)Saigon (Vietnamese) cinnamon the best for my lattes. Very sweet/spicey.
Penzey's is where I used to get it but there are a couple of upscale spice shops near me now... Penzey's though has the price a bit higher than what I've paid for "bulk" but not bad.
Maybe it is just some cinnamon from some origins going up in price?

(6,262 posts)Put three shakes on top of my ground coffee in the filter for flavor and help with high blood pressure. Even though I take a med, my pressure has always been a bit too high. (140/90)
This year, it was perfect! (120/80) Even at the doc's office, where I can have "white coat" effect, driving it up. No other changes in weight, diet, etc. other than this wonderful spice.
I love cinnamon and would pay as much as necessary to keep this morning treat to my coffee, that tastes so good and seems to do so much good for my blood pressure at the same time.

(25,895 posts)I'm not terribly aware of the price.
I do have a recipe I call Chicken of Muchness, which is adapted from a Middle Eastern recipe, in which cinnamon is the main flavoring. It uses cinnamon sticks. I don't make it more than three or four times a year, so the cost of the cinnamon simply isn't an issue.
