What's for Dinner, Fri., Sept. 14, 2018

I'm putting the thread up early for others, as I have to go to work and will be there through dinner hour. Don't know what the RG will be fixing for tonight, but he's coming back from Long Island so I wouldn't doubt that he stops at a specialty food shop there.

p.s. late this afternoon I am helping elementary school kids plant a lettuce garden in their brand new school garden!

Thanks for doing that, NJCher!

I'm alone in the country tonight so I'm going to grill a boneless chicken breast that's marinating in what's basically Italian salad dressing. I've got an ear of corn and I'll make a cucumber salad. Pepperidge Farm cookies for dessert.

TJ bought a bag of small carrots in multiple colors. They faded a bit, but were still colorful.

We had a great time. We raked the raised beds smooth, then I taught the kids how to make straight rows. We planted onion sets, peas, and spinach. Their enthusiasm is a wonderful reward (I do get paid for this, though!).

When I walked in the kitchen, the RG was making fish stew. I see a big swordfish steak sitting there, so I know that's part of it.
