that the combination of caffeine and carbs in the morning leaves me feeling icky.

I don't have caffeine any other time of the day, and carbs and dinner and lunch don't seem to bother me.

I had gastric bypass in 2004. Sugar and processed carbs can sometimes give me trouble, and I think caffeine makes it worse.

It took him years and years to get settled and over the decades his choices widened. I was shocked when he was able to eat a couple of bites of cake at moms' funeral. 20 years ago that would have sent him running to the bathroom, so over time you may notice a change as well?

and certainly things have changed over time.

Please understand carbs don't always give me trouble, but I think when I start the day w/ caffeine it messes me up a bit.

Later in the day I don't typically have caffeine, and I can eat some bread or pasta.

My diet is pretty regular, but there are things that I try to limit or avoid completely. And it is important for me to not waste stomach space on things that do not provide any nutrients.

I eat no more than 3 or 4 bites of ice cream at once. I can have a cookie or a small brownie, but I can't have it w/ milk. Cheesecake is a no-go.

I ate a cinnamon roll this afternoon and had to lay down afterwards; very strong and fast heartbeat, cold sweats and a bit dizzy. Too much sugar.

The surgery has changed over the years. My sister had it 5 years ago and the rules for her were very different from when I had it in 2004. And the amount of food she can consume in one sitting is about double what I can eat, if not even a little more.

I'd almost always rather have a few extra bites of dinner than eat dessert.

My best option for something sweet is either some fresh fruit, or some single bite of chocolate (like a Lindt truffle or a Hershey's Kiss).

from local place ..... the Youngstown Coffee Company. This blend is from El Salvador. I made it in my French Press. Quite delicious!

In addition, a hard boiled egg and a slice of cantaloupe.

I agree with Miss Millie that a breakfast heavy on carbs (cereal, toast, pancakes) really weighs me down. I love it but I just can't eat it.

Two leftover pancakes with deli country ham and Swiss cheese heated in the microwave. Sort of a sandwich with the ham and cheese between the two pancakes.

Coffee was Peet's Major Dickason's blend.

Rainy day here.
