Freezing will kill some parasitic pathogens, but these are typically rare in commercially produced chicken. For things much more common, like salmonella and E. coli freezing will only halt reproduction. So when you buy chicken in the market it’s best to consume or freeze it by the expiration date, otherwise even cooking to pasteurization time/temperature may not be enough to keep you from getting sick.
