Thought I would cross post this here in the cooking group In case you guys had some ideas.Cross post with veggie group Although, I think I could eat the stuff out of the can with a Damn spoon.
OK Im new to the meat free world, and slowly getting my family off the dairy Addiction, and Ive been using a can of coconut milk to make my creamy soups and sauces.
I accidentally Grabbed a can of coconut cream at Trader Joes the other day. Thank goodness I had some coconut milk to finish my soup! 😁 Because this cream is so sweet and almost like a butter!
Im not quite sure Exactly what to do with it. I thought about adding it to a veggie curry that I make that is sweet and savory with potatoes, onions and apples. Any recommendations for the newbie?

(11,845 posts)I use cashew milk, and for a more savory flavor use cannellini beans processed until they are a smooth cream.
TJ's coconut cream would be the bomb in veggie curry or anything Thai curry related.

snip-- Coconut milk: Coconut milk has the liquid consistency of cows milk and is made from simmering one part shredded coconut in one part water. Coconut milk is the basis of most Thai curries.
Coconut cream: Coconut cream is much thicker and richer. It is made from simmering four parts shredded coconut in one part water. The cream that rises to the top of a can of coconut milk is also considered coconut cream.

I have shaken the can of coconut milk, hard, to mix the cream into the milk, next time I'll try just the cream for Curry & the thinner liquid in my coffee.

(13,885 posts)Add something a bit salty or spicy like maybe some miso paste and garlic and you have a kinda sorta Alfredo sauce or thin it out a bit and use it as a salad dressing... 000OOOooo on fish?
