(12,263 posts)Baked potato and tossed green salad. I'm getting a new gas range tomorrow! I'm sick of this electric clunker.

(43,522 posts)I am so happy with my new gas range. You will be thrilled to be "cookin' with gas!" Let us know how the installation went!
I might take a pic and put it up some time this week.

(12,263 posts)I'm so excited. We bought our first house (40 years married) in July of 2018 with a grant from the Cherokee Nation (I'm a member). The appliances were crap, we had to replace the refrigerator immediately, but the Cherokees also have a program to encourage folks to save up for the big things you want for your home. You get two years to save $1,000 and if you do they will match it with another $3K for home improvements. They are big on financial education, so in addition you are required to get multiple bids, take two financial knowledge tests to qualify. It's such a good program. You just get a soft second mortgage on your home that is forgiven in five years if you are making your mortgage payments.
Sorry for running on--I just feel so lucky today!

(1,879 posts)I cooked half a pork shoulder in my Instant Pot to make Mojo Pork. Shredded the meat, and we had it as nachos with tomato, queso and avocado. My dessert was a margarita ....
Half a pork shoulder, probably 3.5 lbs after trimming as much fat as I could, yielded enough meat for 3 more meals for the 3 of us. And this was bone in. I still have the other half in my freezer, not sure what I'll do with it.
