What's for Dinner, Mon., Feb. 10, 2020

Crispy pork bits with jerk seasonings. Mark Bittman recipe, but the RG did his own creative twist with it. It has sweet pepper jelly, in it, too.

For side vegetables: creamy Yukon gold potatoes and sliced turnips. A little broccoli.

Dessert: bourbon vanilla ice cream sandwiches made with pistachio crisps.

enjoying a Highlands Oatmeal Porter, watching the rain come down. Spending the rest of the week at a gardening conference in Corvallis OR - will be fun, but we are LOVING our new home and already can't wait to be back (but will be right off to Connecticut to do garden talks at the flower show). Busy year on tap!

it's a leftover vegan roast bought on sale at Christmas. I don't expect it to be great and I'd like to doctor it up but it was in the freezer and needed to be cooked. The sides will be good! Quinoa with kale, sweet potatoes, and little red beans.

Anybody need to use something up?

Anybody have ideas for fixing up a vegan roast?

Tonight, my sister-in-law made homemade veggie soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Perfect for this cold, wet evening!

For your entertainment, drove north from DC area to NJ (on the way to see this, also for your entertainment,) https://www.mysticseaport.org/turner/

and took daughter and her 4 + 6 year olds to a hibachi place. I had shrimp (with veges,) others had chix with shrimp.

As it was my daughter's and my birthdays recently, the restaurant celebrated, with banana splits!
