Got a convection oven? Or a toaster oven with a "turbo" setting? You got one already. TygrBright Feb 2020 #13

Mine will air fry about 1 pound at a time. I use the small potatoes, cut each in half, mix with olive oil and seasonings and run for 20 minutes at 360 degrees.

Anyway, the air fryer was out of stock, so I’m out of luck.

Cornbread in a small bunt pan? Great. Fish? Delightful. My Ninja is without a doubt the best kitchen appliance I have ever had, and the most used.

Belk has a $22 air fryer deal, so I’m considering. It’s not a Ninja though.

lots of youtube videos showing what it will do.

Got mine for $30 on Black Friday (to use with the 50 lb bag of potatoes I bought).

"Air fryers" are basically small-chamber electric convection ovens that use fans to circulate the hot air around the food.

You can achieve the same results in a convection oven or a toaster oven with a "turbo" setting by purchasing a mesh basket or metal steamer set and arranging your food on it the same way you would in an air fryer, and using the "convection" or "turbo" setting.

As the chamber is likely larger than the dedicated small-chamber "air fryer" your cooking time may vary.

But you won't have to find storage space for yet another single-use appliance.

helpfully,
Bright

Frozen potatoes
Hot dogs
Leftovers (pizza, egg rolls)
Cinnamon toast
Baked potatoes - no heating up the oven for a fluffy baked potato to go with your grilled steak in the summer
Plus lots more I haven’t tried yet
