(57,073 posts)I so miss going out to eat! I am high risk with enormous family responsibilities, so not taking any chances - even with take out foods. 😎
Was it good? 🍕🍕🍕?

(4,429 posts)it was excellent!
The first food not from our house in weeks. I just walked in and picked it up. I don't think there was any risk in in (I even wore a mask .
But it was kind of a relief!

(57,073 posts)Yesterday, I thawed a family size package of chicken breasts.
I cut 3 lenthwise & grilled those pieces on the foreman for lunch with potatoes & peas.
Put the other 3 larger pieces in pot with 2 packages of dried french onion soup with water, carrots, potatoes, celery fkakes & garlic, then made pasta to add to it for a yummy stew.
So I have leftover grilled meat for tacos &/or chicken with a vegetable & pasta on the side, likely with butter & garlic.
I prefer to cook bigger batches so I only need to do it every 2-3 days. 😊
This worked out really well for me.

(4,429 posts)I usually make it in the crockpot
We have a ton of flour, too. I should make that this w/e. Thanks for the idea.

(23,542 posts)your home just like you have flour. When you want to make vegan steaks or fried chicken it's always there as long as you have the seasonings. It's pretty cheap, too.
janterry
(4,429 posts)but I've also washed the flour down (to get to the gluten!) Messy, but sort of fun

(58,785 posts)be defrosted braised pork roast and its broth served over noodles, topped with, instead of the usual arugula etc. from the market, thin-sliced bok choy leaves from the crisper and ripe loquats from our tree. Their flavor is mild but good.
Our daughter and her family bought me for my birthday the other day the Le Creuset braiser I've been coveting for years (but wouldn't buy myself), but the only person on the planet it's a priority delivery for is me, so it'll be a while before I see it. Happy, happy anyway. I do a lot of braises and stove-top dishes, such as this pork.
