Roasted chicken legs. The sauce was simple: dark soy sauce. .
Roasted potato wedges in olive oil with prosciutto bits.
I made another version of kale salad. This was also very simple, but it takes 20" to let the flavors combine over the kale. This particular dressing had olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice with 1 T of chile in it. Then I put roasted pecans and orange-marinated raisins in it.
Dessert: I baked some oatmeal cranberry walnut cookies. That's the last of the dough.

(32,967 posts)Hot decafe tea later.
It's been a nasty day in the mountains and the Landlady(!) decided to make her own lasagna noodles. Three large beefsteak tomatoes will make up the sauce and she's going to use half ground beef and half ground pork.
I'll make a mixed salad and bake some garlic bread.
Sliced apples in brandy for dessert.

there's ice cream in the freezer if I decide I want dessert.
I'm a little wiped out... I may just go to bed early, after Jeopardy.

(37,997 posts)I had it in my cupboard for making tea. I've never cooked it for eating. Holy crap! I had no idea one dry cup of barley would yield more than three cups!
Anyway, it's barley veggie soup tonight.

(1,883 posts)Not the glorton fisherman stuff, the good ones from Costco. Plus some lame carb for balance.
Super yummy, eh?
