(31,979 posts)This guy is great! And I love the way he uses lots of onions! The last step of sautéing the pierogi in butter and onion really makes them so good. I can just taste them! With a dollop of sour cream! Just like my Grandma used to make. So good! Thank you Sarge.

(13,186 posts)I love Pierogi too, but I only eat it when I visit relatives.
There are a bunch of shops making pierogi around Pittsburgh but zero here in St Louis.
My wife makes Gyoza which is basically Japanese Pierogi, but it's not the same

(10,133 posts)is that I compare them with my grandmother's and they're not nearly as good.
Normally, I just boil them but frying leftover ones in butter makes them a lot better - though more calorific.
