Pappardelle with bolognese (ground pork).
Salad made with Boston and iceburg, and I sliced yellow peppers, cucumber, and shallots on the mandoline. I marinated some cherry tomatoes in olive oil, garlic, chopped basil, and added salt and pepper; those will go in at the last minute. Feta cheese with basil and tomato in it, crumbled. Lots of it, too--that's what makes this salad really good.
I had some cookie dough from the other day that I hadn't baked, so I put a round of macadamia-white chocolate cookies in the oven for dessert.

(10,429 posts)Saw it on TV this morning, looks very simple and tasty. I got some shrimp out of the freezer, so I'm gonna cook them and add to the pasta.

(2,343 posts)We are having bone-in chicken breast cooking slowly over the grill flavored with pecan & maplewood smoke. We'll accompany it with marinated, grilled brocolli and cauliflower and garlic mashed potatos. That all will be paired with a fairly dry Arkansas white table wine.
For dessert, we are having our own modification of the cherries jubilee recipe (a brandy flambee served over ice cream). I replace the cherries with frozen peaches. I flambee them in a good brandy. It's delectible! (If you've never had cherries jubilee, you must! It's easy! And better with quality cherries, ice cream and brandy.)

(22,026 posts)It was 70º this afternoon in NE PA and I had a beautiful London Broil in the freezer that called out to me.
We jammed some pieces of garlic into the meat and made a marinade of marsala wine, olive oil and Italian spices. Ultimately, this slab of beef was grilled to a medium rare perfection.
We had a box of Portobello mushrooms so those got sliced up with some onion and fried into a delicious mix.
Once again, our supermarket had fresh corn on the cob (from California) and I grilled those, too.
This was accompanied by an avocado salad with tomatoes and olives.
Dark chocolate and red wine for dessert.
Tomorrow is the local Farmers' Market and we're going to don our masks and check it out.
