(6,086 posts)Since we've been living in the Catskills for 7 months, there are some NYC foods I miss. I love street food, especially falafels if they're made right.
Grind up a bunch of chickpeas and add some olive oil and a dash or two of cumin. Make the mash into small patties, kind of the size of a regular McDonalds hamburger. Lightly fry the patties till they're golden brown. Toast some pita bread and smear it with plain yogurt. Then add a bed of shredded lettuce, sliced onions, thinly sliced tomatoes and a splash of your favorite hot pepper sauce.
A simple meal on a plate.
