I had another burrito. This time I used the leftover rice (which I tried to crisp up, unsucccessfully) and I got some crunch from bacon.

I get crunch from cooked rice by putting it on low in my electric skillet. Wow, what a great golden brown and crispiness I get. The downside it is cooked on low so therefore, takes a long time. Like at least 30".

I am trying all new products this morning!

First, I am enjoying a CUP OF COFFEE!!! Yes, I ordered some low-acid coffee from Amazon. Now I can occasionally join all of you in a cup of coffee.

Then, on a trip to Aldi, I found BRIOCHE BAGELS!!!! Having one of those with cream cheese this morning.

Another new item is dried figs. The RG buys figs on a regular basis but they are quite expensive. Have to use them up fast, too. However, these dried figs are quite reasonably priced, you get a lot of them, and they are really, really good. Having a serving of them this morning with the bagel.

It's leftover from a dinner we had a few nights ago. It was more like a rice "casserole."

if it didn't have a lot of stuff on it, you could do it. I just use plain rice with sesame oil for mine.

It was on 350, preheated~3 min
Dropped the cold rice 'ball' on the pan, covered it, ~2 min, spread the rice out, coveted it again~5 min later, flipped the rice over, checked a few min later, I got crispy and lightly brown.

It could take as long as 20 min, so maybe the tater tots are a better choice.

And I have never been able to get crispy shredded hash browns, soggy white bleh mostly.

Cooking is a live science experiment some days.
