Follow Stephen Colbert? A Late Show.

This past week Stephen was back and forth with Jon Batiste, his band leader about :

Cheese Biscuits. I really want to try them. Anyone have the recipe?

1. Wait, who brought up the cheese biscuits first?

3. Don't know whether it was Stephen or Jon but Jon was going to be the the recipient.

Jon was excited because it seems that Stephen sends him these special biscuits every Thanksgiving.
I googled 'cheese biscuits' and there are a ton of recipes. I'd love to try Stephen's. Maybe I'll try to email the show and tell Stephen that he owes his followers the recipe!

2. Stephen's family in South Carolina makes the biscuits...

...so I would look in one of those sites that does recipes by state. Possibly this place:

helpfully,
Bright

4. Mom

used to take the canned biscuits and grate some cheese and knead it all together. Bake as per instructions on the can/tube thingy.
Me, I mill my own flour...

5. Have not made them

But if you find something that turns out the way you want, let us know the recipe.!

My husband's family has Georgia roots so he likes a good biscuit.

6. I make them with some regularity

My version is just a buttermilk drop biscuit with grated sharp cheddar added and topped with garlic butter before going into the oven.
