What's for Dinner, Sun., Dec. 6, 2020

Spicy tuna roll from the sushi place. Appetizer.

Stuffed chicken roll. Herbs are rosemary, thyme, and garlic. Loved the stuffing since I didn't get any for TG.

Potato cakes.

Toasts with goat cheese.

Fennel, apple, raisin, Vidalia, red and green baby romaine salad topped with walnuts.

Dessert: marbled cheesecake (vanilla, chocolate), butter cookies. Orange tea.

It's a frozen 3-meat pizza (thin crust) to which I added: mushrooms, onions, yellow bell pepper, garlic and extra cheese.

I baked some chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

Leftover pork roast sliced on bread with gravy on top and served piping HOT, homemade applesauce, chocolate-covered donut. Was busy making/baking homemade bread so a simple dinner on a Sunday works for us. Woulda, coulda, shoulda made a salad.

Salads are a PITA. They are time consuming and messy, but I love having fresh greens at every meal. I think I got that from my mother, who always had a tossed salad for us.

I'm not always able to do this but I try: wash greens in advance and roll them in a paper towel and put them in one of those "green bags." Recently one of our C & B members pointed out that salad spinners don't work so well. I agree, however, I still use my OXO salad spinner, but then I lay a towel on the counter and spread the greens across it. I just let them dry naturally, however, in the summer I have a small fan and put that on the greens. That works really well.

If I at least have my fresh greens washed and dried, it's an easy step to finishing a generic tossed vegetable salad.

Baked acorn squash and green beans on the side. Pineapple for dessert. Not fancy, but it works.

McDonald’s.

Quarter Pounders with cheese. Fries. Sprites. Apple pies.

Haven’t done that in years. Now I remember why.

Swiss cheese on lean ground beef from the butcher on potato buns. Just a bit of brown mustard as condiment.

Not really dinner as TJ is still sleeping from work. FLFC woke up and said he was hungry so we had mini-cheeseburgers. No bun and no mustard for him.

If FLFC wants more to eat, I'll cut up an apple to share with him. He has recently decided apple is very desirable.
