I bought a large bag of bonito flakes to make dashi. The cat figured out how to open the cupboard and drag out the bag for himself.

I use dashi with another type of stock (whatever I have) for ramen (I discard the "flavoring" packet that comes with the ramen and add my own seasonings).

None of them will touch it. From the texture and smell, these are just ordinary bonito flakes repackaged for cats. I don’t normally make dashi, but I’ve been reading Morimoto’s cookbook, so feel inspired. Need to acquire kombu.
