We started off already with a platter of pates and trimmings. Chicken liver pate and a pork loaf. There were also olives, peppers, sliced tomato, shallots, capers, and mayonnaise on the platter.
Next up will be sandwiches from this pork roast that the RG did earlier:
There are two kinds of bread: Brioche and ciabattta rolls. I know the sandwich will be something special because he's been researching it for days to get ideas. I know 'cuz he leaves his windows open on his computer, heh.
Asian salad with red and green cabbage, torn romaine, and sesame orange dressing with wonton strips over the top. Also peanuts, chopped, for crunchiness.
For dessert, either mochis (mango) or most likely chocolate turtle cheesecake.
I'm excited because my order of Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea arrived today. Used to be able to buy it in stores but now it's an online order. I'm brewing some up for tonight, but of course other household members will be having wine and champagne.

(9,673 posts)My dinner today at 11am was a bowl of Frosted Flakes and 2 pieces of toast topped with butter and Smuckers cherry preserves. It was delicious. I work a 12 hour shift today.

I've finished cooking a pot of navy beans made with my ham stock from a few months ago.
TJ has to work the hospital labs the next three nights, she'll be glad to take a serving of beans. So it is just me and FLFC tonight, I'm thinking after the beans, for me, sharp cheese, apple and pineapple slices and crackers of some sort.
FLFC has had a couple of down days lately, but today he was doing good and ate all kinds of food from quiche to apple slices. He seems deaf now, but is taking it in stride. He also went outside several times and announced his dominance to the neighborhood birds. He is asleep now and we will discuss his menu later.

(11,660 posts)To support my favorite local restaurant, Micelis, so am getting antipasto salad and pizza.
This restaurant needs help and it was the place my S.I. and had our first dinner so we thought we should start 2021 with some food that brings back good memories.

Pizza with Parmigiana Reggiano, which I find difficult to work with and lacking in flavor. Much prefer domestic parmesan and Asiago, but don't have any of that either. Had to use Colby and Monterey Jack. But it's ok.

(2,301 posts)...sauteed shrimp in creamy sauce (made with Boursin) over spinach for me.
I'm low-carbing and HE isn't, so I made him a special treat. The enchiladas are tortillas stacked with meat and cheese...and topped with a fried egg.
For later, I made chocolate-covered walnut clusters, sweetened with Swerve (erythritol). They're delicious!
Glad you stopped by. Missed you!
Low carb or not, it all sounds delicious.
