I made it myself, too. One of the best things I make. My wife does about 75% of the cooking, but when I mention Chili, she steps aside.

But since I don't add them until the last minute, guests can always have some without beans. I also usually save some without beans if we want some Chili Dogs with the leftovers.

I thought you might be one of those Texas people who say real chili doesn't have beans in it.

I've been flirting with the idea for a few days. I'm between chili, stuffed cabbage soup, and another pot of spagjetti.

Loving new Instant Pot!

I used beer that I had on hand, which was not "dark mexican beer", and it was still delicious.

I tried it using black beans once. It was good, but not nearly as good as just using pintos.

Sharp Cheddar on the top, all we had was tortilla chips. Cornbread is good, we like to add a small can of chopped green peppers in the cornbread. Drained, of course.

Not sure what you mean by Texas Red, but it was red tomato based chili.

I use turkey stock and green salsa my wife makes with green tomatoes then cans it. Not much
else you can do with lots of green tomatoes that are left on the vine when the first frost is coming.

Hubster isn’t a big chili fan, so he’ll make one of his favorites, probably Hungarian noodles and cabbage. Our house will smell..interesting..for a few days.

Nice ass burning red hot..with cheddar and cornbread with corn, peppers and onions in them with a tinge of garlic. Will sear the peppers onions and corn before it goes into the corn bread batter. Which will be baked in my cast iron skillet after the chili is cooked in it.

I add dark red kidneys and black beans to my chili.

We used to get together with some friends for gaming a couple of time a month - had been doing this since the 1980s. We took turns making dinner, and we usually provide chili: it took 3 days to make, starting with soaking the beans, then the dried chiles, then letting it simmer for a long time. I think our record was 7 different chiles - dried and fresh.

Went out for chili take out Thursday. Mike’s Tavern. A local chili bar. A Ballard establishment for 99 years. Owned by the same family for the whole time. The original Mike was an immigrant from Greece. Landed in Chicago and then headed west. 5 generations later one of his great great grandsons waited on me.

I am making the Cincinnati style cuz I want it over pasta with raw onion and cheddar!!!!!!!

Mmmmmm
