Ceramic stovetop

Replaced a heat monitor light a few years back. Now one of the stovetop coils has no thermostat - no ability to control the temp. It stays on HIGH all the time, no matter where the handle is turned.

I'm thinking that's the whole thermostat/rheo? assembly beneath the handle. Probably a few plug in connectors and a new unit. Does this sound reasonable? It's an Amana, 23 years old. DIY. You think parts should be available?

Thanks for any insight.......

Look on YouTube. It shows how to change them. It's pretty easy. Patterson Mar 2020 #1

This is a common problem. Search google, ebay and Amazon for your part number.

can they be lubricated? I have the old one to take apart and it's relays driven by a rubber stem with a bump on it that moves around a rubber core. The old one was dirty but loose. Doubt it can be taken apart, but a little silicone spray lube?
