I like how it looks. Is it for water conservation, critter control, or.....? Thanks.

They are made by a British company and sold through various US outlets, including Gardeners Supply Company.

Unlike the video, I don't use the tripod ports and I plant my tomatoes even deeper and then gently bring the tops through the center. They hold about 3 liters of water and slowly drip it into the soil.

The fence is three decades old, so it requires repair every Spring. You can see doubled up 2x3s or post repairs in some photos. Replacing posts in the uplands of Connecticut just sucks - there is stone everywhere under the ground.

Rabbits get in, but don't tend to munch on my garden since I've seeded much of my back yard with clover. My main pests are squirrels, who dig holes everywhere. Then there is the annual contest to see who realizes the sweet corn is ready first, me or the raccoons.

So for some panels I just knocked the pickets off and replaced the posts/2x3s and screwed the pickets back on one by one. I've tried to find new pickets, but no lumber yard carries the pointy type.

Years ago I bought a roll of fencing from Menards and cut the wire to form loops.
