What are these called? Wild, and delicious.

Neighbors told me last year, and I checked: Rubus phoenicolasius is an Asian species of raspberry in the rose family, native to China, Japan, and Korea. The species was introduced to Europe and North America as an ornamental plant and for its potential in breeding hybrid raspberries. Wikipedia

they might be Thimbleberries.

Rubus parviflorus, commonly called thimbleberry, is a species of Rubus native to northern temperate regions of North America. It bears edible red fruit similar in appearance to a raspberry, but shorter, almost hemispherical. Wikipedia

Can't reach them yet, so can't tell how soft. Will have to reach out to them this week, and hope I can get them before the birds do!
