Osmocote Slow Release Plant Food, Can you help?

I bought a 3 lb. container last year and do not remember if I could use it on Veggies., Nothing on the label or on the Web seems to answer my question. Anyone know if this is only for shrubs or can I use it in my Veggie Garden? Thanks,

I usually grow salad greens, some root crops, hot peppers, and some other edible stuff in some of the containers, both because they are pretty and because its a good way to give them the conditions they want. Osmocote definitely does a good job. I would use it in the garden if it weren't so expensive.
