Related: About this forumUsually my garden is under 3' of snow by now.
I've never had to cover my roses because the snow does the job. This year, we haven't had three days in a row below freezing! Just by coincidence, I covered all my roses with a layer of hay to prep for next year. I figured the hay will give me a head start on weed control next year.

We've had an inch or so of snow that has hung around for a week or so, but today it is 50. Bye bye snow.

A little breezy, but sunny and low to mid 40s already.
I'm going to go out and putter a while this afternoon and see what mischief I can get into in the garden.
Not going to waste a day like this in January in Michigan, even if it is freaky.
