Maybe I've had such bad luck with clematis because I didn't give them banana peels to eat. The Velveteen Ocelot Apr 2019 #4

You just buried in right in the ground with the roots? I have never heard of it but I have trouble growing clematis (I know, I'm probably the only one) so maybe I should try this! thanks!

She said that if you think about it....it's time to feed them.

I feed mine a light sprinkle of rose food weekly and a light dressing of compost every other week

And banana peels now.

and clematis grow reasonably well. Now I already had this clematis for a number of years, but never really got blooms...the most *ever* was five with a 6th coming along...but not there yet.

This year, I fertilized as usual lightly dressed with my fave organic compost and added banana peel cut up, and I can count 13 buds that are getting ready to bloom.

They are about 4 years old
