My wife Laurie likes to teach basic riding to little kids.


Below, the same little girl in the last two images, only older. The horse needed some encouragement.

Thank you, George, for bringing some happiness to this Saturday morning! Having been a horsie kid myself, PB&J is just like kids and horses (or sambuca and espresso if youre looking for an adult pairing). 😊

(22,490 posts)9. When I was 4 or 5 my grandpa took me and a couple apples he had quartered
out to the coral and instructed me to hold the apple in my open palm to feed the horses, first horse had to
stretch his neck way over the fence to get it because I wasn't very tall and bite my hand.
Horse knew he did it and instantly got a sad look like " I'm so sorry, didn't mean to hurt you"
So grandpa picked me up so the horses didn't have such a long reach, then everything went smoothly.
Have a lot of fond memories riding his horses.
