Honey has become a garden pest.

She's digging through our raised beds. I fear for my potatoes and peppers! The plastic snow fence we put up around the beds was eaten through within an hour. I've heard that chicken wire can deter dogs from digging, placed down atop the beds, but that seems like it would inhibit plant growth. Can't afford to buy enough wire to surround our beds. Has anyone else experienced a digger? If so, do you have any advice to impart?

I should add, I think Honey is a shepherd-terrier mix, so she's doggedly OCD when focusing in on a problem.

I made cages out of chicken wire and it worked perfectly. The plants find their way through it.

under his fence. Maybe I could lay it on the ground and keep her from digging for moles.

I am pleased with the stuff, it is easily cut with wire cutters and can be bent into any shape. It is also reasonably priced.

But I don't think it's going to work for the above-ground veggies without cutting out holes for them to expand and grow. (Squash plants can be 4" at the base, for instance.) Still, maybe we can figure out a way to just wrap it around the beds and not the entire garden area. That would save some money. Thanks!

You could just make little lids for the above ground vegetables. You know, cut out a piece larger than you need and then bend the sides down. I did this for bulbs that I put into barrel planters. Can you tell that I am very pleased with the stuff?
