There has been a move against them in Seattle because of concern for the vegetation. People still let their dogs off leash, but if caught it is a $250.00 fine, or something like that.

I should think that would help protect vegetation elsewhere.

But that's one reason I had to retire somewhere I could have a really big fenced yard. So my dogs could always play outside whenever they wanted, weather permitting. It's been many years since I was willing to keep just one dog - they look at me and ask, where did my friends go, mom?
