It goes along with my own hypothesis. That being that companion animals are continuing to evolve socially, while mankind has stalled.

In fact, the Tea Party convinces me a large number of us have DEvolved already and are getting worse. W/o companion animals to bring out the best in us, or at least the healthier among us, where would we be? They are God's gift to mankind, and I often think they must be higher beings in a sense.

I cannot believe that anyone would drop off a day old puppy at a rescue shelter! They were lucky to have a cooperative momma cat.
