Related: About this forumHi guys kind of new here and buying a Siberian Husky
I started a post in GD about asking Husky owners to chime in.
The breeder I went to had sold the last male.
All she had was a pure white female , she was a beautiful pup but not what I was looking for.
I found another breeder and I'm first in line for a male agouti litter that will be born in the spring.
Finding an agouti (black and gray)is a bit more challenging than finding a traditional color Husky.
If there are any Siberian Husky owners here I would love to here from you.

(18,219 posts)so I can't be of much help for you, but I just wanted to welcome you to DU and to the Pets Group.
I do have a few friends who have Huskies (one who used to breed and show them), and all that I can say from seeing those dogs if that they are willful, but loyal, dogs. Good luck with your new dog when you get it. I hope that you have found a reputable breeder and have seen the facility where the dogs are raised and bred. And I have to say this just because....unless you are going to show a dog, you don't have to adopt a purebred. Your local shelters and rescue groups have so many dogs in need of a good home. (And that is my PSA for the day. Not trying to guilt you.)

(40,489 posts)... I heard huge crashing, things falling down in the kitchen and ran downstairs to see what catastrophe was happening.
A bird had flown into the house. I had the kitchen door open because it is freakishly all-time-record hot here in California.
Our husky was running back and forth on the kitchen counter trying to catch the panicked bird as it tried to escape through the windows and screens.
Dishes were broken. Appliances were knocked down.
I wrestled our husky off the counter, chased the bird out the door, and then all the dogs were looking at me like "Why'd you do that??? He almost caught it!!!"
I posted a link in the other thread and it's well to remember with huskies "obedience is optional." If they think they have a better idea, they will follow through.
There only one saving grace with huskies is that they like people. The arctic people who created the breed ate the dogs who didn't like people.
