(261 posts)she stayed up all night hovering over them like a mother hen.
I'll post some pictures in the next few days, they sure are cute and momma knows what she's doing.
We have papa on a chain out back and her in the garage in a big kennel with the door open so she can come and go when she needs to.

My neighbor's boyfriend had a nice pit bull girl who got pregnant three times in two years. 36 puppies in all! They had whatever father dogs she happened to run into, so they were all cute varied pups, and the people exhausted all prospective dog-adopting friends at the first litter, then had to search for adopters.
We recognized her at the SPCA dog adoption gathering one Saturday in 2002, in front of Petco, with the last five pups from her third litter. We were there to adopt our current dog. It turned out that "Rosie", as the SPCA had named her, and pups, were taken from her home by my neighbor's mother when she was left taking care of the dogs after her daughter's boyfriend had left them there since they had broken up and he was on the road working, and the daughter married someone else and was on her honeymoon. The SPCA had "Rosie" and pups on display, and would soon have them spayed and neutered and ready for adoption.
My husband and I talk about how it would have been fun to let our dog Sally have one litter if she hadn't been spayed. We think she would have been a good mother. She's a Border collie-Heeler and we would have liked to have her mate with a Border collie or Heeler, but the SPCA said ranchers sometimes adopt these dogs and leave them outside all the time. They kept Sally in foster care for three months until a family who would keep her in their house wanted her.
I've seen photos of piles of dead dogs and cats who are killed because there are not enough people who want, or can have, pets.
I agree with Bob Barker; "Help Control The Pet Population, Have Your Pets Spayed Or Neutered."
Good luck finding good, non-macho owners for the puppies, who will take good care of them!

Do they sleep in a cuddle pile like on the "Too Cute" show on Animal Planet?
